If your are involved with the world of investing, chances say you have heard of cryptocurrency, and if your not chances say you have heard of bitcoin.

This isn’t another article about the technology behind cryptocurrency or why you should embrace it, rather its an article about why cryptocurrency exists and if it can actually make a global difference.

When bitcoin first began being embraced, it was by people who were tired of the state of the world in terms of financial corruption.

It was vastly people who thought bitcoin was unstoppable and paved way for a money created by the people and controlled by the people

Since those early days countless currencies have cloned the idea and improved upon it and altered that core code.

The problem is, most of those other coins do not have the same visions as bitcoin had.

The ethereum project gave birth to the ability for absolutely anyone to generate a token easily and thats what countless did. Instead of keeping true to the mission off fighting corruption however, they embraced capitalism and capitalist practices.

It became less about fighting back and more about making profits.

Corruption in Advertising and Marketing

When we began researching the problem of corporate corruption in marketing one of the first things we did was check to see what other projects existed in the cryptocurrency space to tackle this issue.

There were a couple other projects, but from my perspective they were not actually trying to fight back against corruption.

Instead they were simply trying to recreate a Google style platform, only using cryptocurrency as a form of payment. To put it more simply, the projects that existed were all about making profits.

To me, this means there is still a problem that needs addressed.

TAC Advertising Platform

When we came up with the idea for The Advertising Currency (TAC), we knew it had to be able to actually decentralize marketing and advertising — not simply try to take a piece of the market share.

To accomplish this, we looked at what Google was doing wrong. That is where the initial plan for the TAC advertising platform came from. A platform that was to be social and more interactive than existing platform.

We also found that almost 90% of all internet advertising is controlled by two companies —Facebook and Google. Fighting back against such a massive presence would be nearly impossible.

TAC Contractual Advertising Plan

Something else we learned about these companies, is they have almost zero presence offline. That is to say, they don’t own the outdoor advertising such as billboards, radio advertising, television advertising, airport advertising, etc.

One top of all of this we learned that 92% of all purchasing decisions, actually take place offline despite the fact that the purchase may be done online.

This opened up a world of possibilities and is where we came up with the idea for the contractual advertising plan.

Capitalism vs Activism

Capitalism is all about the profits. There sole goal is to profit and keep those invested happy. This is vastly different from the way activism works.

Activism often relies heavily on profits and funding, but the end goal is to utilize those funds to propel the movement, not to make investors happy. A good project will actually achieve both.

Bitcoin is a good project. Those involved, do profit and they heavily profit. However there is no founding team or person that profits more than others.

The value doesn’t come from a sole entity but rather the world as a whole embracing it.

Our plan for marketing growth sets us apart from capitalistic coins in that by the end of our project, no sole entity will control the value of the currency.

Although The Advertising Currency project does require a SUBSTANTIAL amount of funding to carry out, the reason is related to activism not profits.

Boards vs Communities

I think the largest difference in an activist project compared to a business project is that a business project is run by a team vs an activist project being run by a community.

I have also learned its much easier to build a profitable team around a project than that of a community.

Telling someone they can make money, always gets a huge response. Unfortunately, telling people that will help the world, not so much.

We have created a group on linkedin about our project, but we still have a ton of work cut out in growing our community and our project.

We would love others to check it out and get involved.
